E-United haft steel project in Vietnam

Taiwan’s E-United Group has decided to stop the construction on its Vietnam blast furnace project. The first phase construction began in the last October, but has been half due to depression in the current steel demand and the poor economic outlook. United Brightening Development Corp, E-United subsidy, owns 90% of the project and Tycoons Thailand hold the remaining.

E-United employees previously base on Vietnam for the project have also return to Taiwan ,furthermore, the companies has not decided when project construction will resume. However, officials confirmed that the project has just been delay and the companies do not intend to abandon the project. The project aimed to product hot rolled coil and billet with a 3m tonne/year blast furnace in the first phase and a crude steel capacity will be expand to 5m tonne/year in later.
