BHP shuts Australian iron ore rail temporarily after incident
BHP Billiton Ltd., the world’s largest mining company, has suspended operations for its iron ore railroad network in the Pilbara region of Western Australia after an incident earlier today. This incident caused one workman killed. Currently, the latest status is the main train line has been closed and all rail operations have been suspended as well until further notice.
BHP is holding seven iron ore mines in Pilbara region of Western Australia. A spokesman of BHP Billiton Ltd. indicated it would not be affected the output of the goal this year by this incident.
