European ferro-manganese prices drop

Effected by the US ferromanganese market continuities to weak threatened by global economic crisis, European ferro-manganese price has slipped quickly.

At present, high carbon ferro-manganese including 0.1 percent phosphorous was being quoted at €900/ton in Rotterdam ex warehouse.High carbon ferromanganese including 0.25 percent phosphorous was dropped to €850/ton and continues its downward spiral, and middle carbon ferromanganese including 1.5 percent phosphorous also dropped to €1400/ton.

Under these circumstances, ferromanganese producers were forced to cut or halt production to cope with weaker demand.
