Aluminum hits record, Nickel slips
Different base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange have shown different patterns on last Friday.Due to the tight electricity supply and high raw material cost from China aluminum mills, aluminum mills plan to cut the production. Stimulated by the news, the three month price of aluminum soared by US$27/ton to record US$3,317/ton in the past five months. Because the copper stocks increase and weak demand in China, the three month price of copper only increased by US$40/ton to US$8,270/ton. On the other metals, the three month price of zinc also increased by US$200/ton to US$2,025/ton. The three month price of nickel decreased by US$300/ton to stand at US$21,600/ton.
